Tim Hamel

A twenty-plus year veteran of the Toronto jazz scene, the sound of Tim Hamel’s trumpet has graced the stage across North America and beyond. As co-leader of the hard-bop group The Cookers Quintet, Tim has composed many tunes and toured the country, from small towns to large cities, and in most major jazz venues. He has performed across Canada and at the New Orleans Jazz Festival with aboriginal blues artist Derek Miller, recorded the soundtrack for HBO television program “Call Me Fitz”, and has made appearances at all the major jazz festivals in Toronto and southern Ontario. Check out Tim's CD "Relapsin' with the Tim Hamel Quartet", a great bop outing with some of Toronto's finest musicians.
